QWAK,solved my SUGAR storage problem :)

QWAK,I moved a big POPCORN tin that I had not moved in a long time and decided to look inside as I had no idea what I had in there. LOL :haha:

Y2K I put 3 5Lb. bags in several popcorn tins -- then just forgot about it.

The good news is the SUGAR is still good as it should be BUT I got 3 5 Lb. BRICKS and will likely have to cut the cans to get them out!

In any event I had just bought more SUGAR for preps and had 2 5 Lb. bags in a 2 gal. zip lock bag. I was going to pick up a cheep plastic tub to put the new sugar in when I saw some great rubber gasketed ammo boxes that will hold 20Lb of Sugar doubel baged and room enough left over for other stuff like rice etc.

http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=422333

I also picked up a MASH hospital bed that folds up flat for UNDER $150.00!:D

Last year I got two military strecher/cots that were super heavy duty for $14.00 EACH!:s9:

Military stuff is often a lot cheeper and DAMN near indistructable.

Storing stuff is a big problem and finding stuff you stored that has been spoiled or some how ruened is FRUSTRATING!

NOW,any body got any IDEAS what to do with 5 Lb. blocks of SUGAR --- other than using them as projectals from a GIANT SLING SHOT? :questionm

Wonder if you could break up into chunks of sugar and chop it up in the blender?

Save it for cooking, it will melt just the same.

Roll them down the stairs to loosen them up? Get some old-fashioned sugar nippers, like they used back when sugar came in loaves. http://jas-townsend.com/product_info...products_id=88

Duck, why the heck would you stock sugar for Y2K? Sugar just makes you hungry later. If Y2K was the major crisis they claimed it to be (I have sort of a software development background and knew it was all exaggerations and lies), you should have stocked cans of soup, beans, protein bars, etc. THAT would keep you lasting longer in an emergency.

QWAK,Old_Nickel,I am hypoglycemic, already died once when my blood sugar got too low.

I got caned goods and other dried stuff too but got to have SUGAR in my coffee to start my day! :s9:

Thought I read some ware of a trick puting sugar in a micro wave to soften it up --- guess I will try that.

Almost time to mix up sugar water for the HUMMERS they alway show up on April 15 --- I think some how the IRS chiped them!:hahaha::haha:

QWAK,silverbullet,I got all sorts of ammo cans and I got one of thoes in my colection,it is way too heavy so the shiping would also add conciderably to price.

It was the end of my 1 year subscription to sportsmans guide and THEY always offer FREE shiping when you REUP so I ordered 10 and they are not AS heavy as that one but still fairly heavy. I placed a big order for a lot of stuff. SHIPING is geting real expencive!

Theas look like they should stack nicely so I will build a wheeled platform for them so I can move them easely.

Sorry, Duck. Didn't factor in shipping.

Just found Coleman's recently, and they are close enough that I can run there and pick things up myself if I want. How cool is that?

QWAK,Dusty, Best CLUE I have found is --- "ALL is ONE" --- you are WELCOME to do your own SEARCH from any point YOU select BUT it took me a LOT of "PONDERING" to find THAT ONE!:thinkey:

I have also CONCLUDED that "It's NEVER realy OVER --- THINGS just CHANGE" so one way or ANOTHER "I will ALWAYS be AROUND" and "ALWAYS have been":s9:
